This etching taken from the long since defunct Blackpool Herald of 9 September 1904, is a South-west view of the yet unbuilt "Secondary School" for boys and girls due to rise on the site of the main toll booth of the lately bankrupt Raikes Hall Pleasure Gardens. The original sketch accompanied the plans submitted some weeks before to the Borough Council by the Manchester firm of Architects Potts and Hennings - they had earlier been responsible for the Town Hall- commissioned to design it.
