30.05.01	Gillian Moakes:- Hello everyone. My name was Gillian Moakes - I was at Collegiate from 1965-71 and then joined the sixth form centre just for one year. I remember that final year with great happiness. It was lovely being a warm new building with lots of new people. I was in a group with Susan Gregory, Heather Oldham, Alan Bell, Sandra Barr, David Hamer and David Cookson. We had taken part in G & S productions before, whilst still at Collegiate. We have just had a 1965 starters reunion and it was wonderful to meet so many people again - we even sang the school hymn with Janet Brown conducting. Since school, I acquired a music degree at Newcastle university, worked at Ibbs & Tillett the classical music agency and then worked for the Head of Radio 3, BBC for some time before moving down to Bristol. I married Mark who studied Mining Geology at Imperial College and we now have 2 children aged 16 and 13. Matthew is about to start his GCSEs next week.
