| 04.12.00 | 1977 starter Kathryn Ingham:-
My name at Collegiate Sixth Form Centre was Kathryn Ingham and I
attended this school from 1982 to 1984. I took music with Mr. Askew and
Religious Studies with Mr. Boardman and another male teacher who taught
us the Old Testament. I didn't do terribly well at 'A' levels, but I did
go on to Lancaster University and earned a Bachelor of Music degree.
After a year of figuring out what I wanted to do, I attended Birmingham
Polytechnic and earned a P.G.C.E. I taught music for two years in
Birmingham and another two years in Coventry. Myself and my husband
moved to North Carolina, U.S.A. in 1993 and I worked as a band director
in a private school in Durham. We moved again to Tallahassee, Florida in
the summer of 1999. I am now studying for a Master's degree in Music
Education at Florida State University. I do not intend to return to
teaching, as I would like to be employed as a researcher into state and
national music standards. I don't have any children, but I have 3 cats,
Henry, Alice and Bonny. My husband Martin Kendal-Reed is also British
and is a smell researcher, also at Florida State University.
When I attended Collegiate Sixth Form, my main friend was Michaela
Dempsey. She was such an important figure in my life at that time. When
we graduated, I lost touch with her, and although I've tried to find her
over the years, I've had no luck. Her parents still live in the same
house - 172 Preston Old Road, Blackpool, FY3 9QY, but I have no idea
what has happened to Michaela and I would love to make contact with her.
