The Summer holidays are over so the weekly update page will be back to appearing on Sunday evenings.

Gerald Richardson Memorial

The dedication of the memorial which was due at the end of the summer term had to be postponed due to the tragic murder of a year 11 pupil. The website and all concerned were mindful of the effect of this tragedy on the pupils of the school and underlining with information on the death of a serving Police Officer was thought too much. The dedication is now scheduled to take place at the school on the afternoon of Wednesday 24th September. Interested parties please note.

School Rules

I have had a number of requests to publish copies of the various school rules on the Meliora Website. If you have a copy which could be featured please e-mail the monitors with details.
The monitors would also be interested in hearing of any anecdotes you may have of falling foul of the School Rules during your time at the school

I've just discovered your fascinating website and, as I'm writing an article on school day memories for Yours magazine, I wondered if any of your listed past pupils would like to take part? It's a national magazine with a great reputation, and I just need some 'real' people to give me their recollections and perhaps provide a photo or two (which will be returned safe and sound).

I wonder whether you can be of assistance? It's quite difficult trying to source people for these features!

Summer Poll

The website monitors have recently joined the modern age upgrading from Windows 95 to Windows XP and from dial-up to Broadband. As a result the results of the latest Poll are awiting migration from the ‘old’ machine. Some of the replies to the School Dinner Poll were most informative – some in fact – too descriptive !!!

The latest Poll is far more simple and everyone should be able to reply with confidence!!
Please can you tell the monitors:- a. How far you had to travel to and from school

b. What modes of transport did you use – please mention all that applied – breaking down the distance where applicable

c. Any memorable facts about the journeys – or a particular journey!

I don’t know whether you meant in finding people or personal success so I am advising that I just published my first book of short stories here in Canada! It is called Ordinary Miracles, is published by Red Deer Press and the ISBN is: 0-88995-277-9. My name is Diana Atkinson. I am a 1960 starter – and a late starter in all other ways.
