Photograph of the present day buildings opened in 1961 nearly 40 years ago. What memories can you provide?

I can vividly recall the enormity of the buildings when I entered the school aged 11 in 1968. Times for a pupil in the school could be described as - character building!
The regime brightened however when the girls arrived in 1971 and my final two years at the school were the happiest. Peel, Stanley, Bright and Lancaster were the four staircases. The doors were guarded by Prefects during cold winter breaks when ten to fifteen minutes seemed like hours.
