Harold Padmore
I am attaching a picture of Mr Harold Padmore and his wife taken in 1963.
I know many of the students will remember Mr Padmore for his love of music.
He was the organist at St Marks Church in Layton and then later at 2 other churches in Blackpool. He lived in Poulton and he named his house "Toad Hall" from the book "Wind in the Willows" a must read in Mr Padmore's class.

Harold Padmore

The christian name is Howard. He was a teacher at Layton Primary School. A brilliant organist and Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, the Vidor Toccatta held no fears for him. He was organist and choir master at Christ Church, Blackpool, certainly in 1949 when he "spotted" me, age 8, and got me to join the choir. He began my training as a soloist and started me off on a lifelong love of music. I owe much also to David Nichols, the young music master at BGS from 1958, a good friend, who introduced me to the classical repertoire.

Howard Padmore moved to St. Pauls, North Shore in about 1952.
