May I offer my sincere thanks for Meliora websites involvement in the placing of the memorial plaque to my brother Gerry.
Family memories and thoughts are constant, but to realise the widespread effect of him as a person in the memories of those shown on 24th September.
My parents both died in 1992 and although devastated by Gerry’s tragic early death, took great comfort in the pride engendered by the subsequent tales regarding Gerry and his quiet “doings”.
Thank you again for Melioras involvement,
Yours sincerely

From Maureen Richardson (widow of Gerald Richardson)
Thank you for making possible the Commemoration of Gerry’s Plaque. I understand that the Meliora website was the driving force behind the memorial.
It was so heart warming that so many had expressed interest after all this time.
It was a wonderful morning for me
Thank you so very much
Maureen Richardson
From Gordon Marsden (Member of Parliament for Blackpool South [the Constituency present school is in])
Gordon was unable to accompany Joan Humble the Blackpool North MP to the unveiling but sent this message which was partly read out on the day.
Dear Martin Wilson,
Thank you for the kind invitation to attend the unveiling of the Memorial plaque to Superintendent Richardson at Collegiate High School on Wednesday September 24th.
Unfortuantely I will not be in Blackpool on that day so therfore unable to attend but I would be grateful if you could ensure my apologies are presented. I am very glad that Gerry Richardson's memory is being kept alive in this way - not just as a tribute to his courage and sacrifice but as a reminder to us all of the continuing risks and dangers that the Police constantly face in Blackpool and elsewhere in protecting us all in society.
Yours sincerely,
Gordon Marsden
