Where are my old muckas Anthony Gill, Matt Windward, Derek Owen, Carl Wolencewicz, Martin Dale (6th form), Simon Beeley et al???? Whoever said schooldays are the best days of your life got it somewhat wrong but they were distinctive and great days. Regards to any teachers who remember the notorious 5B of 1973/74....cheers |

| message contents: | First thanks - to Martin and all others for opening up/maintaining this window onto nostalgia and our youthful past. My spur of the moment memories - Gowns for prefects, transmogrifying us overnight into "Batmen"; Herr Luft's elitism in creating the "X" stream, for which I for one am grateful - was it a one off, or were there later X streams? The grand Midnight ramble to Parlick Pike! Collegiate girlfriends, and were Arnold girls more giving. As Adele Pickup also reminisces on, the joint Dancing Class with Collegiate, virtual bodily contact with the Venusians, and it was ALLOWED! School dinners, especially at Highfurlong, where Prefects got 2nd and 3rd helpings courtesy of Fred Fawbert's sister in the kitchens. Free milk, and breaking the record for number of gills one could down. The Old Number 4 Pub, & associated extra-curricular activity. Frightening recollections for near-60 yr olds! |
