| message contents: | I am working on a new BBC1 antiques series called "Cash in the Attic". The programme is about finding antiques and collectables in peoples houses and then taking them to auction. In one of our families houses we have found an item which may be of interest to former members of the Blackpool Girls Choir. The item in question is a solid silver rose-bowl which was presented to the conductor of the choir in 1951 after their victory in a national competition. It is inscribed with the details of the competition. The bowl is going to be sold at an auction in Harrogate on Thursday the 18th April 2002. The Auction House are called Morphets and if you have any queries about the bowl they would be happy to answer your questions. Their phone number is 01423 530030. I hope this is of interest and perhaps we will see a few of you there! John Widdup BBC "Cash in the Attic" |

| message contents: | I attended BGS from 1940-1945 when I left as a 16 year old to join the Scots Guards. Having served for 12 years I then left to join Norwich Union in London. I have since lived in Yorkshire, Birmingham, South Africa(for 30 years) & now live in Hertfordshire. I remember Dr. Benson, Mr. Curnow & Mr. Murdoch but we also had a number of lady teachers due to the war. I have completely lost touch with Blackpool having been back on a couple of occasions only. I would love to hear from anyone who knows me. Very sincerely.EG |
