| message contents: ; | I have posted a list of 1951 BGS starters on the 1951 page and some reminiscences about amateur dramatics at BGS in the '50s on the message board. Since I made those posts my e-mail address changed but the one shown on the pages just mentioned had not been updated. I know a couple of people were trying to contact me using the wrong address. The address above is the correct one. I am still hoping to hear from people who remember me especially 1951 starters at BGS.
Martin adds This again shows the importance of ensuring you advise the website of your latest e-mail address AND if it is listed anywhere other than the e-mail directory |

| message contents: ; | Just picked up the website after the Xmas break. A rather belated reply to John Hays and Pete Sargent (Nov guest book) - Queen supported Mott the Hoople (including Preston Guildhall gig) in 1972. Soon after Queen also played the Blackpool Arts College Ball. Incredible as it may now seem, but does anyone remember AC/DC (original line up) playing the Imperial Hotel Ballroom one Sunday night (1976?), plastic glasses and all? It was so hot, the then 'wood effect' plywood walls were running with perspiration. The image of Angus Young (schoolboy gear with guitar in full flight) being carried shoulder-high through the audience by Bon Scott during one encore is certainly one to remember in yer old age (Paul England and Mike Lancaster be my witness). |

| message contents: ; | 1966 girls....What happened to you? We had our late Christmas get-together last night, at the Golden Ball in Poulton. We had a really good night...a lot of memories appeared that have been buried for a long time.....The memories were the only things that did appear. ONLY FOUR OF US TURNED UP! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REST OF YOU? There was myself, Lesley Scarr, Chris Myers and Helen Wilson. What we want to know is if Helen could come specially from Chester for the one night why couldn't any from the Fylde area? Our thanks go to those who let us know they couldn't make it....especially mid-week. The next time we will arrange it for a Friday or Saturday night. We need to know which is the better night of the two for everyone. Also we need suggestions for a "Pub" that isn't too busy at weekends so we can have enough room and be able to natter! Diane Heywood has suggested that we actually arrange a Week-end away. Let us know if you're interested. We hope that we see more of you next time anyway. Gill. |

I moved away from Blackpool in 1990 to go to Hungerford in Berkshire and am now living in Horndean near Portsmouth. I am currently training to be a teacher at University College Chichester. I Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me. Thanks again for the website. |

| message contents: ; | I transferred to BGS in 1968 to do my A levels, leaving in 1970 to follow a teacher training course at Chester College. On completing teacher training and then graduating from the University of Liverpool in 1974 I joined the staff of Wallasey Grammar School, Wirral as 2nd Biology Master / Rowing Master. This post I held for a period of six years before moving on for promotion to Birkenhead Institute in 1980. I remained there until 1990 when I decided to leave teaching and study for a higher degree. On completion this gave me the opportunity to work in research (BBSRC) an in Higher Education eg Director of Applied Animal Studies at Nottingham Trent University and my current post, Regional Adviser for Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education, University of Liverpool, Faculty of Medicine. As I live on the Wirral, Cheshire I only return to the Fylde infrequently and then to visit parents (who live Poulton le Fylde) and family. If anyone who was in the sixth form between 1968 and 1970 wishes to get in touch please do so. I am still in touch with Paul Berg, Owen Fawcett and Andrew Gerhold |

| message contents: ; | Happy New Year to one and all! Hope it was a good one....if you can remember! An update for all 1966 GIRLS STARTERS......Our little reunion that was going to be a Christmas Get-Together,and that had to be postponed, is still on. It is going to be on either the 16th or 17th January 2002 in Poulton. We hope that as many as possible will be able to come. It will be in one of the 'Locals', nothing fancy, just friendly. Any excuse for a good natter! If the interest is good we'll see if we can arange a proper Re-union, for both girls and boys, later on this year. Hope to hear from all the 1966 girls. Cheers Gill. |
