message contents: ; Emigrated to Canada in ‘69 so lost touch with most school friends. Saw Carol Williams once when I was home for Christmas. As I recall it was pre Divorce and I was in an alarmingly arty phase. I have been an Occupational Therapist, (trained in Liverpool), a floral designer, a full time Mum,(or Mom as we say) and am now in the process of selling my flower/gift/antique store. My second husband and I have been married for 25yrs. and we have one son. I still like to push the system to see how far it can bend but never quite push it over. Love to hear from anyone who recalls our past.

message contents: ; Does anyone remember/know the present whereabouts of Miss (Margaret?) Mason, teaching Maths at the Collegiate in 1965? Some extra Maths lessons were laid on for those who did A level sciences without A level Maths. These were a waste of time because she didn't know what she was supposed to teach us and we didn't want to learn. So she taught us to play bridge instead. This is the best thing by far I got from the Collegiate. I now spend my time very pleasantly teaching bridge in South Buckinghamshire. I would like to thank her. She seemed very old at the time but may have been all of 35 and so may not have gone to the great bridge table in the sky. I married Mike Patefield (1957 entry but fast track so left in 1964). Still married and main bridge partner. He is a lecturer in Statistics at Reading University but contemplating early retirement, if he can get it.

message contents: ; I was beginning to think I was going up a blind alley until in last few days I've discovered the whereabouts of at least 7 former classmates, of the 1A, 2A, 4X, 5X sequence staring 1957. I think there were 32 of us, so with the three I knew previously we already have a third of the class. So come on the rest of you, you must be out there somewhere?

Hill also took us for rugby. Some other have commented on the noise of the trams passinmg by on Church Street. I do not recall that they bothered us. I think we must have been making so much noise we drowned them out. More later.

message contents: ; Hey, I remember George Pickup and the hockey. I never made it beyond the 2nd team, but it was great when hockey was introduced - no more cross-country running through the mud in Robin's Lane (probably a housing estate now). Bill Breeze was great in Tarantara too. Ken Topping took over as the lead bass when Bill Breeze retired, and never quite got the hang of it. I still like to sing along to the tape when I'm in the car - on my own of course. It was good to see the comments about the trams too. Whatever possessed them to put the music room right on the corner where you could hear the trams on two sides. Sad man that I am, I now make my living dealing with trams. If you want to know how they are doing in Blackpool, look at the Fylde Tramway Society website www.tramway.com/fts. Look forward to reading more memories.

message contents: ; 1949 staff photo fascinating. Drip Murdoch looked mean, less so 10 years later. Fond memories of Tarantara with Billy Breeze, super bass. Saw David Nichols (music teacher after Les's ignominious departure) in 1983. He said that Doc Quinlan never forgave me for quitting cross country running to be among founder members of hockey team. They never found out who wrote that note on the notice board about Doc! Anyway come on you starters of 1952 at BGS who log onto this site but don't make yourselves known. Give some information about yourselves. You don't have to reply to any e-mail you get. People may wish to give and view information but not actually make contact. I taught corrosion science at Sunderland Poly in the 70's and 80's and took early retirement. I married Ken Jackson's sister, Pauline (she went to the Collegiate). Pauline died in 1996. I've since remarried. Ken taught chemistry at a school in Harrogate and is now retired
