message contents: ; I found your site by accident and wondered whether anyone would remember me. I was Linda Crossley all those years ago. I married Dave Briggs who transfered to the Boy's Grammar from Palatine. He would have been a 1957 starter. We live in total chaos in Clitheroe with my mum and 6 dogs of our own plus an average of 20 dogs and 10 cats belonging to other people who happen to be on holiday. ( We have a boarding kennels and cattery) We gave up the rat race some years ago. We have one daughter and two grandchildren. Love to hear from anyone who remembers us.Great site by the way.

She was well loved and respected in teaching in Blackpool, particularly at Beacon Hill High School (formerly Warbreck Hill) where she was Assistant Head. She leaves a husband, Bob and two sons Jaimie and Ben.

Now living and working in Nottingham, get up to Blackpool about twice a year. Remember various joint events between the schools - drama/chess/bridge/dances/public speaking competitions. Barbara Currie was Head Girl in our last year. Would love to hear from any old pupils - have not kept up contact having moved away to work when I was 18.

message contents: ; Message for Simon Vessey Greetings Simon, you may remember I was the guy sat in front of Andy Marsh (Up the Owls) and Duncan Smith in form 4X. Remember the lunchtime Pontoon games for the big pot at 10p a go! Names that ring a bell are Shaun Porter, Richard Manson (Diddy) Mick Comerford, Mark Chalfont. Mike Smith. Whatever happened to them all? To answer your query on the website, last I heard was that Gaz is unfortunately no longer with us. He always was one of the schools more colourful characters(Remember the day he "conducted" the 2W music class from the corner where Mr Askew had sent him) This is a top site. I, like Joanne Sturgess also bypassed year 3. The one thing that is vivid in my memory is Mrs Davies English lessons reading Far from the Madding Crowd. Seemed incredibly dull at the time but something must have stuck because it stimulated interest in Hardy in later years. Anyone remember Mr Askew and his singing practise in assembly just before Christmas carol services and the like. Everyone on the end of the row had to give up their seat so he could stride up and down the hall shouting "SING LADDIE" at any unfortunate guilty of muttering at a dogeared hymn book Anyone out there know where J.J. Biltcliffe hides these days. Havent seen him since 1988 and would love to get in touch.

Still think it was his fault I failed my Art "O" Level for having a paint fight during the exam ! Regards to anyone else who remembers me, the good news is that I did eventually break the 5ft barrier, the bad news is that my hair didnt stick around to see this ! Up the Pool ! Simon

message contents: ; What a brilliant site, well done to Martin and Susan. I have been keeping up with the site for about a year now and find it fascinating reading all the names I recognise. I now live in Portsmouth and rarely get to Blackpool so I have little contact with the old school. I wiould be making the trip if there was a reunion of 1973 starters especially as we all hit the big 40 soon.
