Words and Music - Alan Baines (Mr)

Words and Music

Once again the enthusiastic script-writers and actors of the Sixth Form were rallied together by Mr Baines to produce a hilarious Christmas Review. The theme was a night's viewing from the Baines Broadcasting Corporation and involved unusual versions of popular TV programmes, ranging from a thrilling "Spaghetti Western" which opened the review and involved a nerve-wracking duel between two wild cowboys, superbly played by C. Pryce and P. Williams, at "Lujgi's", to a ridiculous presentation of "Crossroads", which resembled the Woodentops at the Crossroads Motel . American programmes were also produced: "Popsky and Butch" where C. Pryce deserves to be commended for his energetic dying scene which brought a tremendous response from the audience. G. Lawton, K: Hesketh, D. Doherty, P. Williams and S. Jones trooped on as the S.M.A.S.H. brigade. In this sketch the deep concern of the doctors to help Hotlips Bedpan to come to terms with some vital statistics produced some comical moments. The Corporation reached into the future with "Going for a Song A.D. 2,OOO~ which amused the audience with T. Ballard, Julie Collins and A. Brown appearing in green, sparkling gold and bright red tights.

The evening's viewing was brought to a peak in the company of Brucie and Anthea (1), Howker and C. Dune) and " The Generation Game." To close the proceedings Eamon Andrews materialized and introduced the players of the 'Words and Music Inc.'. me whole show was held together in the capable hands of Angela Ripoff (H.Wright).

I am sure all who took part would like to thank the script-writers, the people behind the scenes and Mr Baines for all his hard work and enthusiastic support.
