1974 Reunion
I have now booked the upstairs room at The Old Town Hall in Poulton commencing at 8pm on 3rd May for said reunion.

There was a nominal charge involved but yours truly has paid that out of a morbid curiosity to see how we have all "weathered" with age.

Its free, Its a room in a pub for just us, I have not laid on any catering (except the chip shop up the street!) but I would like a show of hands on who is still coming as I don't want to sit talking to the barman all night on my own. I have one final point which I will put to the democratic vote before we do anything. I notice a good number of you express formers out there who could also be classed as honarary 1973 starters. Do you wish to cast the invite open to the 1973 year as well. I for one recognise plenty of names on the Email list for 1973.

1974 Reunion
I have spoken to the Old Town Hall and we can have the room upstairs for 40 quid. They want a tenner up front which I am going to send down today and the balance before the event. I will stump up the £30 and we can come to some sort of financial or alcohol arrangement on the night. They have offered buffet facilities at upwards of £3.95 a head which on this first (hopefully of many) get togethers, I have declined due to the mechanics of getting confirmed numbers and more importantly a confirmed pile of cash together.

OK everyone we are now on for the main event on 8pm on 3rd May upstairs at the Old Town Hall. I hope a definite venue with just us 40 year olds in will encourage everyone to turn out in force on the night.

Monitor can you please wheel as many teachers out as you can from whatever establishment they might happen to be in these days and spread the good word to the people of Blackpool and beyond.

MONITOR ADDS :- I have supplied Colin with a list of the teachers I have and have given advice on how to find others

Such a shame about the reunion not coming off but thanks to Jaqui for trying so valiantly. I'll go along with Colin's suggestion that any interested bodies meet the same eve in the Thatched. See you all there.

Judging by the previous comments there are still some of us out there game for a get together. OK I will nail my colours to the mast. I have lived out of the area for the last god knows how long but I assume all you 1974 starters know where the Thatched House is in Poulton (or whatever it might happen to be called nowadays). For those who are interested lets meet up there on the same day as Jax has tried to get us together and just wing it and see what develops.

Hell I will be coming from darkest Motherwell, surely we can get enough together to organise a decent round of drinks!!!

I agree with the previous Debbie.....I can't believe we're not going to make the most of this opportunity to get together again. What say we 'deformalise' the get together.....all intersted parties to meet up in the pub and then take it from there. Be it converging on the nearest pizza place or staying put???? Just an idea. Feedback welcome.

Dear All

Sad to report that due to numerous withdrawls by attendees, therefore the pre-requisite minimum for the venue, is now not met, added to receipt of no payments in confirmation, therefore the venue date has been lost, under these circumstances, and despite best efforts to hold this thing together I have decided that I am also withdrawing from the organising of the event.

If anyone else wishes to pick up the batton, for the few that still wish to attend a reunion, they are very welcome to contact me, and I shall forward the email addresses they will require.
