The Collegiate choir photo was taken at the Blackpool Music Festival in November 1964. The choir was well respected at the festival and regularly vied for the top spot. I will always remember walking onto the stage in the Winter Gardens Pavilion and waiting for the adjudicators to hit the bell before we could start singing. Whenever I hear a bell at a hotel reception desk, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up reminding me of those days. A very happy time.
Sadly I cannot remember everyone by name. Agatha Burns was our choir mistress - aka Aggie - she was a lovely person, who inspired my love of music and choral singing, which I still enjoy to this day.
Some of the names I recall are Pat Willman, Kirsten Brown, Lyn Gardener, Josie Wickstead, Joan Atherton, Greta Naylor, Sharron Rawcliffe, Donna Urwin, Judy Dimuantes, Christine Saint, Linda Gregory, Esme Smith. I am on the 2nd row at the far right.
