Dear Monitor,

'm just reading about the school speech day in 1969 and looking at the photo and I remembered that I was one of 3 girls chosen to hand a bouquet of flowers to Miss Roberts, Doc Wilkinson and someone else but I can't remember who!

I remember being shown how to curtsy properly (in such a way I felt silly) and to say a few words before handing over the bouquet.

Needless to say I was the lucky (?) one who got to hand the bouquet to Miss Roberts.!

I seem to think the 3 smallest were chosen as we were the first years and looked "cute".

I was really nervous on that stage in front of the whole school but I did OK and survived the experience!

Amazing what springs to mind when you see a photo or hear a story from someone else.
